چکیده

Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum (KCM) is an uncommon variant of keratoacanthoma. marginatums are most commonly seen on sun-exposed surfaces and present with progressive peripheral expansion raised, hyperkeratotic borders. Central clearing atrophy lack spontaneous clearance other key clinical characteristics. The majority cases benign a low risk metastasis. size such growths variable reported ranging from 5.0cm×5.0cm to as large 20.0cm×14.0cm. Treatment options include surgical excision, oral retinoids, intralesional chemotherapeutics methotrexate or bleomycin. We herein case KCM manifesting exophytic, crateriform plaque in 61-year-old man.

Keratoacanthoma Centrifugum Marginatum with Atypical Scar

Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum (KCM) is a rare variant of keratoacanthoma (KA). It is characterized by a progressive peripheral expansion and central healing leaving atrophic scar. It is sometimes confused with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) both clinically and histopathologically. We here report a case of KCM over the extensor aspect of the right forearm in a 57-year-old man with an abn...

Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum: A diagnostic and therapeutic challenge

KA: keratoacanthoma KCM: keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum INTRODUCTION Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum (KCM) is a rare variant of keratoacanthoma (KA) possessing several characteristics distinguishing it from typical KAs. Clinical presentation deviates from common KAs with lesions that continually expand peripherally. KCM also deviates from the usual histologic findings with a lack...

Keratoacanthoma centrifugum marginatum: unresponsive to oral retinoid and successfully treated with wide local excision

We describe a case of a 65-year-old male presenting with a large plaque with a rolled-out interrupted margin, atrophic center, and island of normal skin over the left arm. It grew peripherally with central healing, and there was a history of recurrence after inadequate excision. Investigations ruled out other clinical mimickers; namely, squamous cell carcinoma, lupus vulgaris, botryomycosis, an...

Keratoacanthoma and Keratoacanthoma-Like Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Differential diagnosis between keratoacanthoma (KA) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is difficult due to their similarities. The mechanisms that drive their distinct biological behavior are poorly understood. To investigate whether the assessment of microvessel density (MVD) could be helpful in KA and SCC differential diagnosis and to gain insight into the pathogenesis of KA-like neoplasms, we...

Conjunctival keratoacanthoma.

Keratoacanthoma generally occurs on the skin; it is rarely found in the conjunctiva. A case of a 34-year-old woman with a rapidly growing conjunctival mass is reported. The tumor was excised with a safety margin to exclude squamous cell carcinoma. Histopathologically it was crateriform and consistent with atypical keratoacanthoma. There has been no recurrence in 2 years of follow-up. Conjunctiv...
